A windy day is in store for Southern California on Friday, where a Santa Ana wind event is expected. Brisk winds, as well as heavy lake-effect snow, will also impact the Northeast, Great Lakes and the northern Plains. Dense fog will form throughout the San Joaquin Valley and the interior Northwest, where it may freeze on surfaces.
