NEW YORK (AP) -- Comments on the New England Patriots by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
___
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (4)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 4) -- Not the best two weeks the Patriots have ever had.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 3) -- Tom Brady is as driven as ever to win another Super Bowl.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 3)
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 2) -- This is a team that knows what to do and how to behave in the postseason.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 5) -- Pats struggle to beat surprisingly tough Jaguars on the road, but they're still alive for a playoff bye. Whether or not they get it could be crucial to their Super Bowl hopes.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 6) -- How far can the NFL's highest-scoring offense take the Patriots? Only six NFL teams have ever scored more points than the 529 of the 2012 Patriots -- and New England still has a game to play.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 4) -- Yes, the Patriots are hard to figure out, but this isn't: They're always a Super Bowl factor as long as Tom Brady is healthy.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 6) -- Once they get punched in the mouth, these guys know how to respond.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 3) -- Tom Brady covers up a number of issues on this roster and this team can beat anyone even on the road.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 4)
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 4) -- If there's any solace from an unimpressive 23-17 win at Jacksonville, the Patriots also seemed disinterested in their final two regular-season games last year before reaching Super Bowl XLVI.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 6) -- They have not brought their "A" game for two straight weeks now.
