BARCELONA, Spain (AP) -- Valladolid forward Patrick Ebert returned from injury in fine fashion by scoring two goals and setting up the late winner in the 3-1 home victory over Mallorca in the Spanish league on Saturday.

The German player, who hadn't played since tearing a muscle in his right leg on Dec. 8, blasted a long-range shot just inside the corner of the goal-frame in the 21st minute.

Victor Casadesus leveled in the 38th for Mallorca. But Ebert launched a lobbed pass for Oscar Gonzalez to race onto and tap inside the upright to grab the win three minutes from time.

Ebert added a third goal in injury time after sending Dudu Aouate to the grass with a nifty dribble.

Valladolid moved into 10th place and broke a four-game winless streak.

Also, Espanyol escaped the relegation zone after beating Celta Vigo 1-0 at Cornella-El Prat Stadium.

Forward Sergio Garcia volleyed in a cross from Christian Stuani for what proved to be the 23rd-minute winner, after Javi Lopez stole the ball to start the decisive counterattack.

Espanyol rose past Mallorca into 16th place. The Barcelona-based team has lost only once in six games since the arrival of coach Javier Aguirre.

Later, Real Madrid visits Osasuna, and Valencia hosts Sevilla.

League leader Barcelona visits Malaga on Sunday, while second-place Atletico Madrid hosts Real Zaragoza, Real Betis hosts Levante, and Deportivo La Coruna is at Real Sociedad. Getafe hosts Granada on Monday.

Rayo Vallecano extended its winning streak to four games by beating Athletic Bilbao 2-1 on Friday.
