Event on Feb. 16 in Millersburg will be evening of indulgence for ladies only

Pampering, prizes, food and fun offered at ladies' event in Millersburg

For an evening of indulgence, pampering, shopping, refreshments and prizes, the ladies are invited to attend Historic Downtown Millersburg's Girls' Night Out on Feb. 16 from 4-9 p.m.

"In the middle of Februrary, most people have cabin fever. This is an excellent reason to get your friends together, to call your mom, your sisters, your daughters and go in town for a night of fun," said HDM Executive Director Tara McCulloch. "There will be all different independent representatives, way too many to name every single one. We will also have a lot of returning favorites: The chocolate fountain and paraffin hand dips at The Jewelry Store, Silpada, make sure you swing by Mama Bear's to get a warm cup of coffee -- There are so many excellent things."

With downtown businesses offering a variety of sales, treats and activities, as well as hosting dozens of independent business representatives, participants can shop, relax and have fun in the downtown.

Amish Country Essentials will offer brown sugar hand scrubs, a Name that Products challenge and a drawing for a $100 gift basket, with representatives in-store from Pampered Chef, Mary Kay and Thirty-One and refreshments.

Thoughts That Count will offer a Fenton Glass Bead special and 10 percent off storewide, while handmade purses, scarves, jewelry and storewide sales will be featured at the Antique Emporium, where candy and ribbon cookies will be for sale to benefit Relay for Life. Mini manicures will be offered by New Image Salon and prizes are available for whoever finds the many red high heels hidden throughout the store.

Jackson Street Gallery will host booths by Pucci Pocche French Poodle Salon, Silpada Jewelry, Bronze Boutique, Scentsy and Miche purses, as well as Hospice and Every Woman's House.

Beauty in the Beach will provide a chocolate fountain, finger foods, door prizes and a grand prize, as well as a Scentsy representative.

Sue's Cut and Perm will feature vases that turn into a hat, hair products and representatives from Scentsy and Alltel, as well $8 foxy lady drinks.

Millersburg Glass & Collectibles will have refreshments, sweet treats and tax-free shopping, while Millersburg True Value will provide refreshments, a huge sale, in-store specials and a drawing for a gift basket.

Starlight Antiques will host special sales for the evening and offer new lighted prints by Billy Jacobs. Participants can get their pictures taken in different fun antique settings and enter into a Facebook picture contest, as well as a raffle for a Billy Jacobs basket to benefit the Millersburg Lions Club.

Village Antiques will provide light refreshments and specially discounted items, while WOW Image Group will offer a free gift with a $10 purchase.

Young Music & Sound will have special 2013 Sweetheart Sales throughout the store, as well as a drawing for a pink guitar and a chocolate jazz extravaganza with chocolate refreshments.

New this year, Eighteen 76 Salon & Spa, located in the 55 West building, will open its doors with a sale on retail items throughout the spa as well as a raffle for a full makeover, Eye Kandy Glitter Eyeliner, ColorMe temporary hair color, a pre-booking special, Catered Jewelry Designs and Tastefully Simple.

Lux Hair Studio and Larry's Music Center in Millersburg will also make their Girls' Night Out debuts, providing tax-free shopping, live music and refreshments at Larry's and Lux will host a Best Lips contest and sales on makeup, skin care and hair care products.

The Voice of Holmes County will also participate.

"It's a good time for people to come in and check out the Voice's studio, see where the Lunch Bunch happens and see where the magic that Mark Longsinger creates comes from," said McCulloch.

At Voice of Holmes County, ladies can get hand-crafted jewelry by Cherikaberry and Dizzy Izzy Gourmet Cupcakes.

As another new participant, Avon will be located on the Courthouse Lawn, where there will be information on domestic violence, breast cancer awareness and on Avon's goal of putting 100,000 women to work in 30 days. Participants can enter a drawing for an Avon gift basket and other prizes.

The popular paraffin hand dips will be offered at The Jewelry Store. Dippers can do one hand for free or both for $5. The store will also offer free jewelry cleaning and a scarf sale.

Light For My Path Candles -- formerly Walnut Creek Candles -- will also offer refreshments and make-your-own candle for $5 and 20-50 percent off everything.

At Bookworms, spend $10 and receive a free cupcake book bag and enter into gift basket raffles to raise money to purchase an iPad for the special education program at Millersburg Elementary.

The book store will have S&S Mane Attraction in-store doing quick up-dos alongside representatives from Jamberry Nails and Wildtree. A full Candy Bar will be set up and refreshments will be available.

At the Christian Homestead Bookstore Annex, located inside Bookworms, Wanda Brunstetter's new book, "Goodbye to Yesterday," is available for $4.97 rather than the retail price of $6.99, as well as other $5 book specials.

In Balance will also have new products Thirty-One and Pioneer Loft will sell "See Shel's Treasures" with European Beads.

La Palma will offer drink specials and a $2 kiwi chiller drink special will be available at Bag's Sports Pub. Sweet & Spicy Coffee for $1 will be offered at Mama Bear's, as well as the chance to win a Mama Bear's gift basket.

At Young's Uniform & Scrubs, 10-minute reflexology samples are available for $5 and other specials will be featured.

Kaufman Realty will offer a variety of attractions, from the Humane Society, which will hold a drawing for a gift basket, to homemade healthy dog treats from Kaser's Pet Bakery and five-minute free massages by Dexterity Salon, as well as representatives from Premiere Jewelry, Arbonne and Norwex.

PNC Bank will be partnering with Active Chiropractic to offer mini-massages, while Rig & Co. will provide complimentary mini manicures and 25 percent off all Signature Makeup products.

To continue the fun, the ladies can extend the night longer by booking a room in town.

Comfort Inn Millersburg will have discount rooms available under a group block, MLBG GNO, or for those who mention Girls' Night Out when calling for reservations. Rates start at $59.99 on Saturday.

Hotel Millersburg will have rooms starting at $65, as well as offering $6 martinis in the restaurant, cupcakes by Sweet Treat Junktion, jewelry by Twiffy's Crafts and Sam Sutton, caricature artist, will be in the lobby.

For the night owls, After Hours will be held at the American Legion from 9 p.m. to 1 p.m. and at The Eagles #4482 from 6 p.m. on.

The American Legion will host karaoke and the Eagles will feature live music, drink specials, goody bags and a Valentine's Dinner, and ladies get in free.

After Hours is not on the GNO punch card.

Planning to attend? Participants can pick up a punch card at any participating business at the beginning of Girls' Night Out. Have the card punched, stamped or initialed by each venue, then drop off the completed card at the last business visited. Those with the entire card filled out will be entered into a drawing for an iPod Nano and gift card for iTunes.

"And if you cannot make it to every business, you can be entered into the drawing without the completed form for $5," said McCulloch.
