Prairie Township Friends of the Library met May 8 with all officers present and 11 visitors from the community. Members approved a budget for 2017 and by-laws. Copies will be posted at the library for the public.
A bid from Aaron Day of D. L. Day Masonry for repair and repointing of the brick and sandstone on the outside of the building was accepted.
A sale of excess books will be held during the Holmesville June Yard Sale day. The books will be displayed at the library, giving people a chance to view the facility.
The Summer Reading program will be a program about "Our Town," with the children visiting various offices and businesses within the village and learning about their community. The final meeting will be a tie-dye project, along with pizza and ice cream sundaes.
It was reported that Story Hour has had 15 attendees. There will be two more sessions before the summer recess.
Scott Stallman would like to do computer classes beginning in the fall, after people are done with summer events.
All meetings are held on the second Monday of the month. The next meeting will be June 12 at 6 p.m. All are welcome.
