Millersburg Electric staff has many years experience, offers quality service

Known as "Your Appliance Headquarters," Millersburg Electric has been providing the area with top name major appliances, consumer electronics and electrical services since 1945.

"We work very hard to manage a reputation of top quality customer service in all three divisions: Appliances, stand-by generators and electrical services," said Millersburg Electric owner Kerry Taylor. "We try to address every opportunity and constantly look at areas to improve in every aspect of the company."

With the area's largest appliance and video showroom -- offering top brands like General Electric, Frigidaire, Bosche, Thermador, Samsung, SpeedQueen and LG -- appliances are the mainstay of the retail business, said Taylor.

Millersburg Electric is now a member of Appliance Dealers Cooperative, which gives the store the ability to purchase items at lower cost for competitive pricing on everything from refrigerators to televisions.

"Joining the buying group opened our doors to a lot of other products and we get two day a week delivery from a warehouse in Pittsburgh that stocks about $35 million worth of appliances, so we can get appliances quickly," said Taylor. "Our pricing is very competitive on that and we have a lot of big opportunities through the buying group that often gets us to a lower price point than the big box stores."

Along with the appliances, Millersburg Electric offers full-time delivery and service staff.

"It goes back to the customer service, our staff has the ability to work with the customer to make sure that they get the appliance that is best for them. I refer that back to experience," said Taylor.

Millersburg Electric has a wealth of experienced staff members, including Service Manager Jim "Buzz" Wiegand Junior, who has been performing appliance repairs at Millersburg Electric for nearly 30 years, as well as Terry Adams, who brings with him many years of experience in the hardware business, and Roger Boring, who worked for a home construction business and offers a working knowledge of kitchen design and more. RadioShack Manager Kyle Krownapple offers many years of electronic and computer experience and Taylor himself has 30 years of experience at Millersburg Electric.

"We bring a lot of knowledge and experience to the table," said Taylor. "After a purchase is made, we follow up with the service end of it and carry that through for the life of the appliance. We pride ourselves on the repeat business that we have."

Now in its fourth year as a RadioShack franchise, Millersburg Electric also offers a diverse range of electrical products.

"That has really increased our customer count in the store with all of the electronic items that RadioShack handles. There is a diversity of electronics that they have -- we have a huge number of specialty batteries, literally hundreds of smaller, hard-to-find electrical items like fuses, fuse blocks, indicator lights and other things that a lot of people from various industries around the county need," said Taylor.

On the electrical side of the business, Millersburg Electric performs residential, commercial and agricultural electrical contracting, with an electrical division headed up by Kevin Bamford who brings 30 years of experience in the commercial electric industry.

Millersburg Electric also specializes in providing effective stand-by power solutions.

In 2004, Millersburg Electric became a dealer for the Generac line of stand-by generators, a leading designer and manufacturer of generators and engine-powered products.

With more than 1,600 Generac stand-by generator installations in the last eight years, Millersburg Electric earned the title of Ohio's No. 1 Generac independent dealer, with award-winning Generac Elite service status.

"We have watched that business literally explode in the last eight years," said Taylor. "That has expanded our geographic footprint considerably, we' re traveling a 50-mile radius of Millersburg and a little farther."

With a full-time generator sales person, along with five certified installers and repair technicians, Millersburg Electric has expanded its footprint to include installations from Medina south to Columbus, east to Cadiz and west to Mansfield.

Using sales expertise from years of experience, the employees at Millersburg Electric are dedicated to matching customers up with the best generator for their home, business or farm, as the generators come in sizes ranging from 8 kilowatts to 150 kilowatts.

In addition, Millersburg Electric offers free on-site generator evaluations, as well as preventative maintenance agreements and 24-hour emergency generator service.

In August, Millersburg Electric became a Power Pro Dealer for Generac Power Systems. This distinction is the highest level available for a Generac residential/commercial dealer and is only open to dealers that meet the most rigorous set of sales and customer service criteria.

Today, the sales, installation and service of Generac generators accounts for more than 40 percent of total revenue for Millersburg Electric. To request more information, contact Generator Sales Coordinator Ken Mohler.

On Tuesday, Oct. 30, Millersburg Electric will host its 26th annual Halloween Sale, a one-day only sale running from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

"There will be sale tag on every item in the store, and that includes special order items which will be discounted as well," said Taylor. "This is a great opportunity to shop early for the holidays."

In addition to free popcorn, the store offers 12 months Same As Cash payments with approved credit, lay-away and will hold items for early deliver or pick-up.

Selling brands like RadioShack, Frigidaire, Generac, GE, Samsung, Bosche, Thermador, Dish Network, LG and Panasonic, "We have a huge selection of toys for young and old," said Taylor. "A lot of those the adults like too."

These electronic toys include radio controlled cars, helicopters, MP3s, iPhone 5 accessories, Sirius Satellite Radio subscriptions, docking devises and more.

"This sale is a good lead in for the holiday season. It gives an early opportunity for a family gift -- maybe a new television or entertainment system -- and (allows customers to) get that out of the way early, in advance of the big Black Friday Event," said Taylor. "It's an opportunity to not only generate sales on our part, but as a thank you for the community support that we have by offering discounts on everything in the store."
