Just in time for the holiday season, Weaver Basic Foods specializes in bulk foods, holiday gifts and deli meats and cheeses.
In the fully stocked deli, Weaver's has no fewer than 19 meats and 20 cheeses.
Customers can get meats like Trail bologna, Black Forest ham, Dutch loaf, hard salami or roast beef and choose from cheeses with names like aged Swiss, Colby, hot pepper, lacy Swiss, pepperoni cheese and smoky hot pepper.
These items are sourced locally from Walnut Creek Cheese and Schlabach Distributing.
"What really sets us apart is that we have a customer base that moves the meat and cheese, that's why it's so fresh," said Weaver Basic Foods manager Marlin Miller. "We move it, it stays fresh and it's all freshly sliced for the customer. We don't pre-slice anything. We never have to throw our meat and cheese away."
The deli also offers small and large deli and fruit trays, as well as freshly-made sandwiches upon request.
"If customers want to come in, we make the sandwiches right here," said Miller.
At Christmas time, whole hams are available from the deli with one week notice.
Weaver's also features weekly deli specials and sales on selected items throughout the store on everything from bulk items, everyday necessities and snacks to dairy products and frozen goods.
As an unusual offering, Weaver Basic Foods also invites customers to use its old-fashioned grain mill.
"We can grind the berries into flour," said Miller. "Customers can bring in their own or we also have different berries we sell off the shelf."
The process only takes around five-10 minutes, said Miller.
For the holidays, Weaver Basic Foods will offer a mix and match candy tray. Customers can purchase a three-compartment tray to be filled with his or her choice of candy, chocolate and snack items.
Shoppers also can get their baking and party mix supplies, party trays and other holiday needs at the store.
The store also is a seller of Henn Pottery.
"It's a discontinued item that isn't being made anymore. Once it's sold out, we're sold out," said Miller. However, the store still offers a large selection, he said. Through Dec. 31, Henn Pottery is 15 percent off.
Custom-made Pottery Bowls will be available for gift-givers.
And if it isn't on the shelf, Weaver Basic Foods also does special orders.
"If you don't see what you need on the shelf, I have anything at my fingertips that I can get within 3-5 days," said Miller.
