Holmes Liberty Coalition meets today
The Holmes County Liberty Coalition will meet today (Thursday, Jan. 10), at the Millersburg Comfort Inn. The program will be on emergency preparedness. Public is welcome.
Holmes board of elections reopens Monday
In order for the Board of Elections and staff to attend Ohio Registered Election Official training, the Holmes County Board of Elections close d at noon on Jan. 8.
It will remain closed until Jan. 14 at 8 a.m.
Regular office hours begin on Jan. 14, after which time the office will be open 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Thursday. There will be no Friday office hours.
Holmes Humane Society to meet
The next open meeting of the Holmes County Humane Society is Thursday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Life Center (former Grocery Bag) in Millersburg. New and prospective members are welcome. For more information, call 330-377-4026.
Spaghetti lunch is Sunday at senior center
Spaghetti and meatball lunch will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at the Darb Snyder Senior Center, 170 Parkview Drive, Millersburg. Meal will be prepared by Snyder's nephew, Tony Magistro and open to public. Musical entertainment during the meal will be by Bonnie Slater. Winter fish frys scheduled
American Legion Post 494 of Sugarcreek announces its 2013 Winter Family Fish Fry schedule. All you-can-eat fish frys will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, Feb. 16 and March 16. The frys run from 4-7 p.m. or until the food is gone. Everyone is welcome. Post 494 is located on North Broadway Street, in Sugarcreek.
Pottery Day benefits Every Woman's House
Kids' Pottery Day will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, from 9 a.m.-noon at West Holmes Middle School. Proceeds will go to Every Woman's House of Wayne and Holmes Counties. The cost is $10 per piece of pottery made. Pottery will be fired and delivered to the students' schools or a convenient pick-up site.

Walnut Creek School to hold haystack breakfast
Walnut Creek Elementary School will be hosting a haystack breakfast on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 8-11 a.m. Please come support the school and plans for repairing the basketball court as well as educational programs sponsored by the Parent's Advisory Committee.
