Legion seeking musical groups
SHREVE -- Shreve American Legion, Forest Post No. 67, is looking for local country western groups to provide entertainment at the Post Home on Friday and Saturday nights. Stop in or call Roger E. Pennell, commander, at 330-464-3898.
Every Thursday from 10-11 a.m. is preschool story hour.
The library has many new books. Stop by and check out the new titles. Besides being open for programs, the library is open Monday from 2:30-4:30 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m.-noon.
Evening hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30- 8 p.m.
The library is at 111 S. Taylor Street in Holmesville and all programs are open to the public.
A family of four can gross up to $3,739 a month and still financially qualify for the program.
If you are receiving SNAP, or OWF benefits, or are enrolled in the Medicaid program, you automatically qualify.

Holmes can provide birth certificates
The Holmes County Health District is able to issue certified birth certificates to anyone born in Ohio.
Hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Cost is $25.
Goodwilloffers home pick-up
Goodwill Industries of Wayne and Holmes counties is offering home pick-up service for those who have a large amount of donations.

The Glenmont Food Pantry has been able to meet the needs of the community, but needs support.
Primarily meat and/ or cash donations are needed.
Canned goods can be purchased for pennies on the pound which makes it more affordable than purchasing retail, but any non-perishable foods are accepted.

Complaint filingprocess established
The Holmes County Board of Elections has instituted a complaint filing process.
Complaints about a voting concern should be filed with the board, and forms are available at www.holmescountyboardofelections.com and at the office, 164 E. Jackson St., Millersburg.

Community card applications
University of Akron Wayne College's library has offered to provide community cards to Holmes County residents.
These items may be delivered to the Holmes County Higher Education Center for easy pickup.
To apply for the card and see cardholder benefits, visit https:// wayne.uakron.edu/ library/ community-members.dot or come into the central library in Millersburg for a paper form.
All applications must be returned to the Holmes County Library for processing.

Vision screening vouchers
Sight for students vision assistance is available for children in need of an eye exam and-or glasses.
Prevent Blindness Ohio provides vouchers to cover the cost of an eye exam and glasses based on income guidelines, and is available to Holmes County school-aged children.

-- The Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes counties, 2285 Benden Drive, Wooster, is seeking volunteers to befriend those recovering from mental illness.
Training and ongoing support are provided. Matches are free to make their own plans as well as join in group activities.

-- The child assault prevention program, provided by the Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes Counties, is looking for reliable adult volunteers.
If you are interested in helping children learn ways to stay safe, strong and free, and have at least two hours a month to offer, call 1-877-264-9029.
Each will be interviewed, receive training and must undergo a background check.
Agency offers service to senior citizens
Southeastern Ohio Legal Services receives funding by the Ohio Department of Aging through the Area Agency on Aging, Region 9, to provide free legal help to those age 60 and older.
The agency provides assistance with government benefits problems, including social security and medicaid eligibility, housing problems such as landlord-tenant and foreclosures, consumer matters like problems with car or mobile home dealers or scams to get your money, tax problems with the IRS, family matters that include your being taken advantage of by other family members, and with simple probate matters like wills.
Southeastern Ohio Legal Services assists residents in Holmes, Coshocton, Muskingum, Belmont and Harrison counties.
