West Holmes junior Brayden Chaney clocked a 48.82 to take fifth in the 400 dash at the state track meet recently, while Knights senior thrower Josh Goudy placed sixth in the discus.
Goudy went to work quickly as each of his first three throws were over 150-feet including his best spin of 153-1 helping him to a finish that made up for just missing the finals last season and made his final prep meet a memorable one.
"It's amazing to be able to show the improvement that I've been able to make," he said.
"I knew I had six more throws left in my career, so I tried to give it everything that I had. I was just short of placing last year, so to be able to take sixth, I'm just blessed."
In girls action at the state meet in Columbus, A pair of West Holmes seniors made it onto the podium as Taylor Yerian was eighth in the 300 hurdles (45.68).
Michelle Hostettler had an similar finish in the 3,200-meter run (11:13.82).
