By CHRISTINE L. PRATT Staff Writer Capturing images, her love of animals and funds to support both, a local business woman on Sunday kicked off what is to become a monthly fundraising campaign, with the first proceeds to support the Holmes County Humane Society. Stacey Long is owner of one of the area's newest businesses, fifteen81. Her photo studio is wherever her subjects are, at their home, outside, or in any special location, with studio-style or natural environment backgrounds. She moved to Holmes County four years ago and "instantly fell in love with Millersburg," she said. Her style is "fresh and modern and I strive to capture images that amaze people. With design, I like clean, simple with a twist of whimsy," she said. And so, she has kicked off a campaign to showcase her offerings and benefit local charities, with 10-15 minute mini photo sessions for up to three subjects -- pets, couples, kids. It was without much contemplation she selected the first beneficiary of her Monthly Give Backs, with each $15 session fee to benefit the animals. "I love animals, almost as much as I love photography; when I lived in Michigan I worked at the Michigan Humane Society for three years," according to Long. "Working there was both the best and worst experience of my life. It was difficult yet rewarding, heart wrenching yet heart warming, it was filled with as many disappointing moments as there were joyous. "I will always have an insane amount of respect for those who dedicate so much of their time trying to help animals in need so I decided that I had to kick off the Monthly Give Backs with the Holmes County Humane Society," Long said. Already she has identified her next two charities, with September's session fees to benefit the Holmes County District Public Library and October's proceeds to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, in recognition of breast cancer awareness month. The Holmes County Humane Society is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of animals in Holmes County. They do not have a shelter so all of the animals they take in are located in loving foster homes waiting for a family to come adopt them.
