Glenn H. Degen, 75, 6321 Degen Road, Stone Creek, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, in the emergency room at Union Hospital, after a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 24, 1936, in Bucks Township near Stone Creek to the late Clarence and Louise (Regula) Degen, and married Phyllis McPherson on Aug. 29, 1964. She survives.
He was a farmer all of his life and was employed for 18 years at the Belden Brick Co. in Sugarcreek. He attended New Pointe Community Church and was a member of Tuscarawas County Farm Bureau.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, Jean (Jerry) Vacha of Stone Creek, Jim (Amy) Degen of Cary, N.C., and Virginia (Michael) Lehman of Dalton; grandchildren, Jacoby and Jordan Vacha, Quentin, Grayson, Phoebe and Corbin Lehman; and a brother, Merle (Carol) Degen of New Philadelphia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy.
Services were Sunday, Oct. 21 at New Pointe Community Church, with the Rev. Dwight Mason officiating. Burial was in Fiat Cemetery.
