Lester A. Erb, 86, 6444 Township Road 129, Millersburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 17, 1926, in Holmes County to the late Andrew J. and Lizzie (Miller) Erb, and married Fannie Hershberger on Aug. 30, 1945. She died April 8, 2001. He then married Amanda E. Miller Schlabach on Jan. 17, 2002. She survives.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and was a minister.
Surviving in addition to his second wife, are children, Katie (Mose) Miller and Clara (John) Nisley, both of Millersburg and Atlee (Mary) Erb of the home; a daughter-in-law Maryann Erb of Millersburg; 35 grandchildren; 144 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; 16 stepchildren; many step-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Richendollar of Winchester, Cora Gillman of Mount Orab and Ada (Roman) Keim of Georgetown, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Mary Miller of Millersburg.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Andy; a grandson; six great-grandchildren; his parents; a half brother, Raymond; and a half sister, Katie.
Services were Thursday, Oct. 18 at the Erb residence, with Bishop Daniel Schlabach officiating. Burial was in Raber Cemetery, Mechanic Township, Holmes County.
Arrangements were handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.
