Chester Tim Hamilton, 89, of Wooster, passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Majora Lane Nursing Home in Millersburg.
He was born Feb. 19, 1923, in Akron, the son of Edward and Helen Boyles Hamilton, and married Donna J. Worst on Aug. 10, 1944. She died Oct. 11, 2012.
He retired from the safety division of United Telephone in 1983, after 30 years.
He was a member of Akron Road First Church of God, American Legion, was a very active member of International Order of Odd Fellows and was a co-founder of the Wayne County REACT group.
Tim loved fishing, woodworking, spending time at Tappan Lake and traveling to Canada. He served his country with the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Surviving are children, Ron Hamilton of Shreve, Cheryl (David) Saylor of Dover and Roger (Kim Justice) Hamilton of Shreve; grandchildren, Mitch and Mallory Hamilton, Tim and Bethany Saylor.
In addition to his wife, Tim was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Edward, Robert and William Hamilton.
Friends will be received Wednesday, Nov. 28 from 6-8 p.m. at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
Services are today (Thursday, Nov. 29) at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Arnie Kauffman officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.
