Eli A. Yoder, 80, of Mount Hope, went home to his Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at his home after a four-month illness.
He was born in Wayne County on Dec. 27, 1931, to the late Adam E. and Lydiann D. (Kaufman) Yoder and married Effie Miller on April 17, 1952. She died Jan. 19, 2003. On Aug. 12, 2006, he married Lydia Schlabach. She survives.
He retired from the woodworking industry and was a member of the New Order Fellowship Church.
Surviving in addition to his second wife, are daughters, Esta (Mahlon) Gingerich and Ellen (Jerry) Kline, both of Millersburg; sons, Robert (Marie) Yoder of Martinsburg, Ed (Joyce) Yoder of Millersburg, Steve (Marilyn) Yoder of Bloomfield, Mo., and Matthew (Martha) Yoder of
Lyndonville, N.Y.; 33 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; sisters, Fannie (Isaac) Keim of Apple Creek and Arie (Aden) Raber of Winesburg; and a brother, Adam Yoder Jr. of Mount Hope.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary, Melinda, Edna, Katie, Anna and Sarah; brothers, Dan, Harry and Roman; a daughter-in-law, Anna (Kline) Yoder; and grandchildren, Jenalee and Travis.
Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 23 at the Dan Troyer residence, 8110 Township Road 652, Millersburg, with Bishop Eli Shetler officiating. Burial was in the Hershberger Cemetery, Paint Township, Holmes County.
Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton, handled arrangements.
