Esther Crilow, 80, Sugarcreek

Esther L. Crilow, 80, of Sugarcreek, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home in Walnut Creek, after an extended illness.

She was born April 16, 1932, in Holmes County to the late Cyrus and Alice (Reif) Stingel, and married Charles A. Crilow on Oct. 4, 1953. He preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 1990.

She was a former teacher, home maker, and farmer's wife for many years. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of First United Church of Christ in Sugarcreek.

Surviving are daughters Charlene Crilow of the home and Karen Brooks of Sugarcreek; and Forrest Brooks of Sugarcreek.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Patricia Crilow.

Private family services will be Friday, Dec. 21 at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek, with pastors Eric Rummel and Welton Stein officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
