Richard Briggs, 71, Millersburg

Richard Gordon Briggs, 71, of Millersburg, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Majora Lane Care Center, Millersburg.

He was born Nov. 30, 1941, in Wooster, the son of Warren Leland and Eleanor (Stricklen) Briggs, and was a graduate of Wooster High School. He had attended Ohio State University, and had worked for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Millersburg.

Surviving are a brother, Warren Lee (Ruth Ann) Briggs of Fort Wayne, Ind.; his stepmother, Paulyne Parker Briggs; a sister-in-law, Myrle Wright Briggs; three nephews; two nieces; a cousin, Jane Braddock and Todd Bickel, who provided compassionate health care.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gerald Bruce Briggs; and a sister, Elizabeth Ann Briggs.

Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 29 at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg.

The family suggests contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
