Marcia Lynn Stutzman, 43, of Millersburg, saw the gates of Heaven open and entered in on Friday morning, Jan. 4, 2013, at her home surrounded by loving family and friends after a strong, courageous and inspiring four year battle with leiomyosarcoma.
She was born June 9, 1969, in Millersburg, the daughter of Doyle and Elaine Miller, and married Matthew Scott Stutzman on June 8, 1991. He survives.
Marcia was raised in Walnut Creek, and was a 1987 graduate of Hiland High School, where she was valedictorian. In 1992, she graduated cum laude with a double major in accounting and finance from Mount Union College.
She was a principle with Rea & Associates in Millersburg, where she worked 23 years, and was a member of Millersburg United Methodist Church, where she sang soprano in the choir. She was also a member of Holmes County Chamber of Commerce, West Holmes Athletic Boosters, Ohio Society of CPA's, American Institute of CPA's and Modern Mother's Club.
She was a caring and loving mother to her sons, Clay and Jordan, and was a devoted wife. Marcia loved gardening, cooking and enjoyed attending sporting events and musical activities at West Holmes.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are sons, Clay and Jordan, both of the home; her parents of Sugarcreek; a sister, Darcy Miller of Sugarcreek; a nephew, Andy Frye; a niece, Abigail Frye; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and her loving cancer puppy, Bella.
She was an inspiration to her more than 500 followers on firstname.lastname@example.org. She showed with true integrity, dignity and spiritual strength through her words which will forever encourage people how to fight their battles, big or small. Through butterflies, she reminds us to not miss the simple beauty that can always be found even on difficult journeys. Her chrysalis has opened, "Miss Daisey" is Home.
A Celebration of Life service was Tuesday, Jan. 8 at Millersburg United Methodist Church, with Pastor Tom Jones officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg.
