Della Ramseyer, 100, Millersburg, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home after a short period of deteriorating health.
She was born in Millersburg on July 25, 1912, to Guy and Gertrude (Findley) Patterson. She married Robert Ramseyer June 26, 1937. Together, they founded Holmes Cheese Co. in Holmesville, now in Millersburg. She graduated from Holmesville High School and Lakewood City Hospital School of Nursing. She had been active in Eastern Star, Holmesville Federated Church and was a member of Millersburg Presbyterian Church. She was an avid quilter, gardener and family genealogist.
Preceding her in death were her husband; an infant son, John; and siblings, Raymond Patterson, Wilda Weiss, Roy Patterson, Evelyn Lecky, Dorothy Stallman and Dr. Owen Patterson.
She is survived by sons, Dr. Richard (Bonnie) Ramseyer, Utica, Robert J. (Jo Ann) Ramseyer and Walter (Lydia) Ramseyer, Millersburg; a daughter, Alice (Tom) Wolfe, Illinois; 12 grandchildren, Robyn Ramseyer, Kristin (Marc) Yabroff, Heidi (Brian) Barbey, Brian (Leah) Ramseyer, Hans (Ellie) Ramseyer and Aaron (Stacey) Ramseyer, all of Millersburg, Fred (Dr. Patty) Ramseyer, Massachusetts, Dr. Erich (Angela) Ramseyer, Utica, Rob Ramseyer and Kathryn Broderick, both of Indiana, John (Beth) Wolfe and Jim (Caroline) Wolfe, both of Illinois; and 20 great-grandchildren.
A service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Alexander Funeral Home in Millersburg with Pastor Burnetta Armour officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holmes County Education Foundation.
