Carrie Lou Snow, 85, of Killbuck, passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 30, 2013, at Pomerene Hospital, Millersburg, after a short illness.
She was born Sept. 18, 1927, in Killbuck Township, the daughter of Robert and Carrie (Nyhart) Reed, and married Clyde Kenneth Snow on June 24, 1950. He preceded her in death in September 1968.
Carrie Lou was a graduate of Killbuck High School, and was a homemaker, a teacher's aide at Killbuck Elementary School, a secretary for Addressograph-Multigraph in Holmesville, and had worked at Wal-Mart.
She was a member of Killbuck Methodist Church, Ladies Auxiliary of the Killbuck VFW, and Killbuck Sorority. She enjoyed reading and was a wonderful cook. Carrie Lou loved family get togethers, spending time with her grandchildren and watching their sporting events.
Surviving are children, Sandra (Drew Barnett) Hargis of California, Christine (Greg) Hardesty of Millersburg, David (Barb) Snow of Ashland, and Mark (Heather) Snow of Millersburg; grandchildren, Sean (Joyce) Hardesty of Charlotte, N.C., Michael Hardesty of Millersburg, Seth and Christopher Snow, both of Ashland, and Jordan, Meredith and Nora Snow, all of Millersburg; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Sophia Hardesty; sisters-in-law, Roma and Aggie Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Harold "Dick", Dennis, Ralph "Bud" and Max Reed; and sisters, Goldie Taylor and Doris Doolittle.
Carrie Lou will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
Graveside services were Saturday, Feb. 2, in Killbuck Cemetery, with pastor Kenneth Smailes officiating.
Arrangements were handled by Alexander Funeral home, Millersburg.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Killbuck Library; or to Holmes County Home.
