Chris L. Eicher, 50, of Geneva, Ind., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at 6 a.m. in White Pigeon, Mich., due to injuries received in an auto accident.
He was born Wednesday, Jan. 2, 1963, in Adams County, Ind., and was a member of the Old Order Amish. He had worked construction for the DC Graber Company.
Surviving are his wife, Esther (Ruben) Eicher of Geneva, Ind.; sons, Menno C. (Ruby) Eicher of Goshen, Ind., Daniel C. (Malinda) Eicher of Berne, Ind., Ernest C. (Elizabeth) Eicher and Chris J.R. (Freda) Eicher, both of Macy, Ind., Henry Eicher and special friend, Verena Swartzentruber of Geneva, Ind., and John Miller of Wooster; a daughter, Elizabeth C. (Luke) Shetler of Brinkhaven; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Ernest L. (Venna) Eicher, Amos L. (Wilma) Eicher and Henry L. (Bertha) Eicher, all of Monroe, Ind.; sisters, Lydia (Samuel) Eicher of Lagrange, Ind., Verena (Manaul) Eicher of Milroy, Ind., Elizabeth (Amos) Wengerd of Monroe, Ind., and Lovina (Henry) Hershburger of Dundee; half-sisters, Martha (Aden) Schmucker of Apple Creek, and Rachel (Michael) Eicher of Millersburg; and step-parents, Ernest (Rachel) Girod of Fillmore, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest V. and Lydia (Graber) Eicher; grandparents, Menno and Fannie Eicher and Amos and Leah Graber; a brother, Menno Eicher; a sister, Leah Graver; a half-brother, Mose Eicher; and a half-sister, Amanda Eicher.
Services were Saturday, Jan. 12, at the John A.C. Schwartz's residence, 8851 S. 400 W., Geneva, Ind. Bishop Amos E. Schwartz officiated. Interment was in Bunkerhill Cemetery, Geneva, Ind.
Arrangements were handled by Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, Geneva, Ind.
