SHREVE -- Nancy S. McComas, 72, of Shreve, passed away at her home Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Feb. 27, 1944, in Orrville to Calvin and Alma (Hall) McElroy, and married Gary McComas on Oct. 18, 1959. He survives.
She retired from Diamonite after 27 years of service and was a member of Ripley Church of Christ. The family has fond memories of gathering at Nancy's mother's house every Sunday to visit and enjoy each others company. She was a kind soul who loved her cats, her dog, Abby, her flower gardens and most of all, her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are daughters, Mona Lisa (Scott) Colvin of Shreve and Christine Sue Kaufman of Lakeville; four grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and a sister; Sharon Sigler of Wooster.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David McComas; a daughter, Diane McComas; a sister, Connie Etzwiler; brothers, Larry and Harry McElroy; a step-grandson; and a step-great-grandson.
Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 10 at Ripley Church of Christ, with the Rev. Tom Benter officiating. Burial was in Ripley Cemetery.
