FREDERICKSBURG -- Verba Yoder, 89, of 8259 County Road 235, Fredericksburg, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016 at her home following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
She was born in Wayne County June 20, 1927 to the late Mart A. and Fannie D. (Troyer) Miller and married John J.C. Yoder on Nov. 6, 1947. He died Aug. 25, 2006.
She was a member of the Amish Church.
She is survived by children, Roy (Freda) Yoder of Sarasota, Florida, Harry (Irene) Yoder of Fredericksburg, Fannie (Melvin Jr.) Weaver of the home, Ella (Alvin) Coblentz of Fredericksburg, Clara (Roy) Yoder of Kidron, Katie (Jerry) Schlabach of Fredericksburg, Paul (Darlene) Yoder of Millersburg, Mary (Jerry) Miller of Fredericksburg, John (Rhonda) Yoder Jr. of Sarasota, Florida and Martin (Drucilla) Yoder of Millersburg; 47 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; brother, John Miller of Michigan; and sister-in-law, Anna Miller of Fredericktown.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren; brothers, Henry, Harry and Roman; and sisters, Anna, Katie and Mary.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 30, at the Atlee Yoder residence, 8270 County Road 235, with minister Joseph Weaver officiating. Burial was in the Keim Cemetery, Salt Creek Township, Holmes County.
Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton handled the arrangements.
