WALNUT CREEK -- Kenneth R. Levengood, 91, of Walnut Creek, formerly of Baltic, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, after a brief illness.
He was born March 27, 1925, in Baltic to the late Daniel F. and Vennie (Krebs) Levengood, and retired in 1988 as railroad maintenance foreman for the Norfolk Southern Railroad.
He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Baltic, and was a former member of Baltic American Legion, having served in the U.S. Army. He was married on June 13, 1948, to the former Elizabeth M. Kobel. She died Oct. 19, 2011.
Surviving are children, Joann Wilcoxon of Baltic and Jeffery (Christene) Levengood of Dover; grandchildren, Diann (Mark) Mansill, Paula Keppler, Jennifer (Erik) Oreto and Joann (Derrick) Zobenica; and great-grandchildren, Katherine Swart, Ryan Hostetler, Zach Wilcoxon, Jacob Hostetler, Daniel Keppler, Logan Oreto, Drevi, Camden and Lane Zobenica.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Sam Wilcoxon; and sisters, Mary Hardesty and Arlene Stantz.
Services were Thursday, Jan. 19 at Zion United Church of Christ, Baltic, with the Rev. Dr. Jim Henniger officiating. Burial was in Coshocton Memory Gardens, Coshocton, where Coshocton Veteran Council will conduct military honors.
