PERRYSVILLE -- Frank R. Mitsch III, 76, of Perrysville, died peacefully Tuesday morning, Jan. 24, 2017, in LifeCare Hospice, Wooster, after an extended illness.
Frank was born Jan. 28, 1940, in Mansfield, the son of the late Frank J. and Ella (Hoffman) Mitsch, and was a 1958 graduate of St. Thomas Military Academy, St. Paul, Minn., and attended St. Thomas College.
He was a boating enthusiast his entire life, and was owner/operator of Mitsch's Marine in Mansfield and then Pleasant Hill Lake Marina. He later owned The Sport Shop in Loudonville and had follow-on jobs in the marine industry prior to becoming a Realtor for Oakwood Realty in Loudonville. For 20 years, he was a bus driver for Loudonville-Perrysville Schools, before his retirement.
Frank was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Loudonville, was a charter member of William Ankney Council 13601, Knights of Columbus, and a fourth degree member of the Msgr. Hannon Council Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his loving wife, Deb (Schultz) Mitsch, whom he married Aug. 27, 1960; sons, Brian (Jill) Mitsch of Bradford and Keith Mitsch of Pataskala; a daughter, Carrie (Lou) Chiarella of Greenwood, Va.; grandchildren, Christopher Mitsch, Benjamin Mitsch, Mary Chiarella, Grace Chiarella, Hannah Chiarella and Keith Andrew "Drew" Mitsch; a sister, Shirley (Tony) Weibl of Bucyrus; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Rachael Lynn Mitsch; a sister, Gerry Zaccariello; as well as a special aunt, Catherine Hallabrin.
Funeral Mass was Saturday, Jan. 28, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Loudonville, concelebrated by Fathers Vincent Hawk and Nick Weibl. Private burial was in St. Peter Cemetery.
