WALNUT CREEK -- Marcia Ann Maag, 86, of Walnut Creek, formerly of Myrtle Beach S.C., died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
She was born March 16, 1930, in Cleveland to the late Rolland and Leona (Carr) Smith, and married John Maag on Oct. 5, 1957. He died May 19, 2013.
She retired from Holmes County Welfare Department, was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Walnut Creek and had attended First Presbyterian Church, Myrtle Beach, S.C.
She enjoyed volunteering at the hospital and various other service orgainzations.
Surviving are a daughter, Michelle (Randy) Hochstetler of Walnut Creek; sons, Steven (Gail) Maag of Berlin and Michael (Leisa) Maag of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Daniel (Bekah) Hochstetler, Heather (Cory) Vance, Sarah (Corey) Snyder, Seth (Amanda) Hochstetler, Rachael, Matthew, Rebekah, Leah and Stephen Maag; and great-grandchildren, Olive and Charlie Hochstetler, Landrie Snyder, Henry Maag and was awaiting the arrival of her newest great-grandchild in May.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life service was held Tuesday, Jan. 24 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Walnut Creek, with the Rev. Mark Behrendt officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery prior to the services.
