LAKEVILLE -- Joan C. Drouhard, 90, of Lakeville died Thursday evening Feb. 2, 2017, at West View Healthy Living, Wooster.
Mrs. Drouhard was born Feb. 1, 1927, in Massillon, the daughter of Anthony W. and Irene B. (ne Siffrin) Rohr.
She was a 1945 graduate of St. Marie Academy, now Canton Central Catholic High School. Mrs. Drouhard had lived in the Lakeville-Loudonville areas most of her life after her marriage to Lawrence Drouhard on Aug. 3, 1946. Mr. Drouhard was the executive vice-president and his family the founders of Mansfield Sanitary Pottery, Perrysville.
Mrs. Drouhard was an active volunteer in her community and was known by the family as a "master mushroom hunter" and was "Mom to anyone and Grandma to everybody." She loved bowling, cooking and baking, and doing anything and everything for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their friends. For many years she wintered at Sanibel Island, Fla., but she loved returning to Ohio where she could feed and watch her hummingbirds and gold finches.
She is survived by a son, Christopher Drouhard of Sanibel Island, Fla.; two daughters, Rebecca Drouhard of Loudonville and Joie Ann (John) Gregor of Scottsdale, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward (Vickie) Rohr of Massillon and Joseph Rohr of Taluca Lake, Calif.; two sisters, Barbara (Clyde) Jackson of Mansfield and Sue Maghame of Taluca Lake, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Beverly J. Rohr of Massillon; and a daughter-in-law, Marjorie Drouhard of Loudonville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lawrence A. Drouhard on May 21, 1979; a son, Anthony A. "Tony" Drouhard; a brother, William Rohr; and a sister, Mary Carol Rohr.
Friends called Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, where a service of remembrance began at 4 p.m., with Chaplain Kirk Fairhurst officiating.
