SUNRISE, Fla. -- Joyce M. Brown, 86, passed away on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at Sunrise Health & Rehabilitation Nursing Home in Sunrise, Fla., after a period of declining health.
She was born Mabel Joyce Stutzman on Aug. 15, 1930, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Mabel Doris (Moore) Stutzman and David J. Stutzman. Joyce worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Co. for 40 years, a job she loved and talked about fondly up until her last days. She moved to Florida upon retirement and enjoyed gardening and living close to her daughter, Connie.
Surviving are a daughter, Connie Finley, a son-in-law, Stephen Finley and their two daughters and grandson, and a daughter, Debra Carpenter Foley and her children and grandchildren; a brother, David Ivan Stutzman; a sister-in-law, Tammy Stutzman and her two sons; and a brother, Paul Douglas Stutzman.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 28, at Alexander Funeral Home, 8612 State Route 39, Millersburg, with funeral director Ron Alexander officiating. Burial was in Berlin Cemetery.
