LOUDONVILLE -- Katherine L. Wolfe, 72, of Loudonville, died surrounded by her family on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 25, 2017, at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus after a short illness.
She was born Feb. 11, 1944, in Green Township, Ashland County, the daughter of the late Richard and Martha (Doll) Frank, and married Robert L. Wolfe Sr. on Sept. 12, 1964. He died March 10, 2004.
She was a 1962 graduate of Loudonville High School and had lived in the Loudonville-Perrysville area all of her life. She was the assistant activities director for 19 years with Colonial Manor Health Care Center and had formerly worked at Loudonville Rest Home.
She was a life member of Trinity Community Church, where she was active in the choir, church council, Ladies Guild, community suppers, and was a Sunday school teacher. Katherine also was a member of Big Run Homemakers Club, Ashland County Extension Homemakers, Red Hat Society and Firelands Electric Cooperative Advisory Board. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, canning, quilting, crocheting, traveling and stopping at every garage and yard sale.
Surviving are a daughter, Alisa (Bob) Frank of Danville, and sons, Gary Wolfe of Chillicothe and Adam Wolfe of Loudonville; grandchildren, Rachel Nelson of Chillicothe, Elizabeth Frank of Kenmore, Wash. and Jonna Wolfe of Chillicothe; sisters, Ruth (Richard) Weaver of Loudonville and Laura Hecht of San Martin, Calif.; her companion, Harry Garber of Loudonville; and brothers-in-law, John (Sandy) Wolfe and Jim (Jackie) Wolfe, both of Glenmont.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Wolfe Jr., in 2001; and her parents.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Trinity Community Church, Loudonville, conducted by pastor John Temple. Burial was in Loudonville Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the Wolfe family by visiting www.Byerly-Lindsey.com.
