WOOSTER -- William C. "Bill" Miller, 85, of Wooster, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at Smithville-Western Care Center, after battling Parkinson's and dementia.
He was born April 25, 1931, in Holmes County to Henry and Famie (Roach) Miller, and married Dorothy M. Hunter on May 2, 1954. She passed away on Oct. 14, 2010.
Bill graduated from Nashville High School in 1950, and served in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Iceland. He retired from Quality Castings after 47 years, and during this time he also did custodial work at Church of the Cross for 34 years.
He was a member of Church of the Cross, and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
Bill will be deeply missed by children, Gerald Miller of Wooster, Karen (Fred) King of Smithville and Greg (Rachel) Miller of Orrville; grandchildren, Kelly (Brandon) Green, Melissa (Jim) Euga, April Davis, Renea (Josh) Hess and Jeremy King; great-grandchildren, Carson, Dylan, Lillian, Natalie, Miley, Zoey, Caleb, MacKenzie, Madisyn; and a sister, Evelyn Chase.
In addition to his wife of 56 years, he was preceded in death by brothers, Russell, Glenn and Tom Miller.
Services were Saturday, Jan. 21, at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Kristen Patt officiated. Burial was in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
