WEST SALEM -- Martha A. Stutzman, 88, of West Salem, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at her home.
She was born in Maysville on Nov. 11, 1928, to the late Andrew N. and Amanda A. (Troyer) Hershberger, and married George A. Stutzman on Nov. 6, 1947. He died July 30, 2009.
She had lived in Goshen, Ind., for 23 years prior to moving back to this area. She was a member of East Union Mennonite Church.
Surviving are children, Amanda (David) Amstutz of Dalton, Lydia (Ron) Cripe and Anna (Dave) Weaver, both of Goshen, Ind., Susie (Steve) Freyenberger of Wayland, Iowa, Martha (Dale) Imhoff of West Salem, Rachel (Roy) Eberly of Dalton, George Stutzman Jr. of New Columbia, Pa. and Gordon (Doris) Stutzman of Wooster; 25 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Susie (Eli) Wengerd; a half-sister, Rachel Girod; and half-brothers, Mose, Reuben, Harry and Henry Miller.
She was preceded in death by a son, William; two grandsons; and a brother.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 1, at East Union Mennonite Church, with pastors Lynn Wenger and Leonard Wenger officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Online guest registration and condolences may be sent through the funeral home website at www.spidellfuneralhome.com.
