MILLERSBURG -- Gerald W. "RoHo" McBride, 84, of Millersburg, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at Holmes County Home, Holmesville.
A service was Monday at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with preacher Gene Lilly officiating. Burial was in Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites were held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.

He was born July 15, 1932 in Sebring to Harold W. and Enid D. (Boardman) McBride, and married Bertha M. Smith in El Paso, Texas, on Nov. 1, 1969. She died Jan. 8, 2015.
Gerald served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-54, and worked most of his life in the oil fields. He also worked for Menuez Brothers Sand & Gravel in Millersburg.
He was a member of Holmesville Church of Christ, Cornerstone, American Legion Post 192 in Millersburg and Killbuck VFW 7079. Gerald enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Anyone who knew Jerry was going to hear a Texas story.
Gerald will be deeply missed by children, Richard (Suzie) Watson of Millersburg, Barbara (George) Dawson of Nashville, and Lois (James) Strouse of Millersburg; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert E. McBride of San Diego, Calif.; sisters, Janet Richey of Albuquerque, N.M., Deloris McClellan of Sebring and Mary L. Gindlesberger of Millersburg.
In addition to his wife of 45 years, he was preceded in death by a son, Harold "Buster" McBride; a grandson, Dustin McBride; step-sons, Albert and Arthur Watson; and three brothers-in-law.
The family wants to thank Holmes County Home and Hospice for their tender loving care that Gerald received during his stay.
