BALTIC -- Bishop John J.C. Yoder, 74, 5106 Township Road 118, Baltic, passed away Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at his home surrounded by family.
Funeral services were Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at 9 a.m. at the residence, with minister Albert A. Raber officiating. Burial was in Stutzman Cemetery, Mechanic Township. Arrangements were handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.
He was born June 5, 1942, in Mechanic Township, the son of Christ G. and Katie (Miller) Yoder. He first married Fannie A. Stutzman on Oct. 30, 1963. She preceded him in death. He later married Fannie N. Raber on June 5, 2001. She survives.
Other survivors include his children, Andrew (Alma) Yoder of Baltic, Esther (Roy) Stutzman of Millersburg, Abe (Mary) Yoder of Baltic, Ada (David) Troyer and Katie (Abe) Yoder, both of Millersburg, Lena (William) Miller of Fresno, Dena (Daniel) Miller of Baltic, Ammon (Verba) Yoder of the home, Emma (Rueben) Yoder of Millersburg, Sarah Yoder of the home and Allen (Katie) Yoder of Millersburg; 57 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Dan C. Yoder of Baltic, Amos C. (Verna) Yoder and Henry (Anna) Yoder, both of Millersburg and Atlee (Katie) Yoder of Baltic; sisters, Ada Nisley of Butler, Mattie Troyer, Amanda Mast and Dan (Ella) Nisley, all of Millersburg and Henry (Malinda) Hershberger of Baltic; and a sister-in-law, Emma Yoder of Sugarcreek.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Andy Yoder; brothers-in-law, Mose Nisley, Henry Mast and Abe Troyer; and sisters-in-law, Fannie Yoder and Ella Yoder.
