SUGARCREEK -- Robert Lee "Bob" Slicker, 69, of Sugarcreek and formerly of Canal Fulton, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, in Winter Haven, Florida.
Bob was born Feb. 9, 1948, in Massillon to Donald M. and Roseline (ne Rohr) Slicker. He was the co-owner and operator of Slicker Farms. He was a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau for more than 12 years, retiring in 2011, and a Wayne County Farm Bureau member for more than 40 years. He was the Ohio Farm Council's 2009 Outstanding No-Till Farmer of the Year and also was a member of Ss. Philip & James Catholic Church in Canal Fulton.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death in 2008 by his wife of 38 years, Mary (Katie Carioti) Slicker.
He is survived by wife, Linda Mitchell; children, Amy Slicker (Tim) Wiles and Mark Slicker; stepchildren, Cheryl (Scott) Matchett and Jon (Kelly) Mitchell; grandchildren, Shelby (Brian) Patton and Robert Cutright; stepgrandchildren, Amanda and Shelby Matchett, Katie, Meghan, Sean and Shannon Mitchell; great-grandson, Andrew Nicholas Patton; brothers, Mike (Janice) Slicker, Fred (Alice) Slicker, Larry Donald Slicker and Bill Slicker; sister, Mary (Jim) Ogi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial was 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Ss. Philip & James Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin McCaffrey officiating. Friends called 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2017, at Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Ohio 93), Canal Fulton. Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery, Sugarcreek.
