COLUMBUS -- E. Eileen Young, 87, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017.
She was born Dec. 8, 1929 in Holmes County to the late John and Mabel (Stitzlein) Young.
Eileen was a graduate of Glenmont High School, earned her bachelor of science degree from Capital University and completed her master of arts degree at The Ohio State University. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Whitehall.
She taught in Mifflin Township, Loudonville and Whitehall, was a language arts editor with Charles E. Merrill Books and an editorial consultant for the Ohio Department of Education.
She was a member of Gamma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma (DKG), Franklin County Retired Teachers, Capital University Alumnae and the Columbus Education Association Retired (CEA-R).
Surviving are her sisters, Doris (John) Wilson of Fort Myers, Fla., and Joanne (Ron) Meeks of Wooster; her brother, John (Hazel) Young of Glenmont; nieces, nephews, many friends and lifelong friend, Judy Valentine.

Funeral services werer Monday, March 20, 2017, at 2:30 p.m., where visitation was 1:30-2:30 p.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, 730 Collingwood Ave., Whitehall. Pastor Eric Moehring officiated. Private interment was in Loudonville Cemetery.
