Kathyleen Franks

1928-2017

PERRYSVILLE -- Kathyleen M. Franks, 88, of rural Perrysville, died Monday afternoon, March 20, 2017, at her home after a short illness.

She was born Nov. 25, 1928, near Greer, the daughter of the late Guy and Charlotte Darr Hall. She had been a resident of Holmes and Ashland County areas all of her life. She was a waitress for more than 20 years at the Shell's Half-Acre on state Route 3 in Loudonville.

Kathyleen was a member of Bigelow United Methodist Church and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, feeding the hummingbirds, and her many cats. On Jan. 14, 1956, she married Cecil Franks. He died July 19, 2012.

Surviving are her son, Myron Oswalt of Loudonville; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law,Jim Morris of Loudonville.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Douglas G. Oswalt, and a daughter, Charlene Morris; brothers, Earl, Merl and Beryl Hall; and sisters, Lucille Wright and Bernice Stanger.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with the Rev. Diane McCartney officiating. Burial was in Loudonville Cemetery.
