FREDERICKSBURG -- Mary Hostetler, 71, 3751 County Road 200, Fredericksburg, died Friday, March 17, 2017, at her home after an eight-month battle with cancer.
She was born in Holmes County on Feb. 19, 1946 to Dan J.L. and Emma (Mast) Schlabach and married Joseph D. Hostetler on Nov. 10, 1966. They celebrated 50 years of marriage this past year.
She enjoyed being a homemaker and was a member of Fryburg Beachy Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are her children, Robert, James, Emma and Rose; her mother, Emma Schlabach of Fredericksburg; siblings, Elizabeth Schlabach of Sarasota, Fla., twin sister, Arie (Mose) Weaver, Susan (Aaron Jr.) Fisher, Ada Mae Kauffman and Aden (Barbara) Schlabach, all of Fredericksburg and Elsie (William) Yoder of Sugarcreek.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty; her father, Dan Schlabach; her sister, Esther Weaver; and brothers-in-law, Lester Weaver and Roy Kauffman.
Funeral services were Sunday, March 19, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Gospel Haven Mennonite Church, 6871 State Route 241, Millersburg, with Pastor Paul Chupp officiating. Burial was in Fryburg Church Cemetery. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton handled arrangements.
