FREDERICKSBURG -- Mattie B. Schlabach, 78, of Highview Drive, Fredericksburg, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, at LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at Gospel Haven Mennonite Church in Benton, with Pastor Dennis Mullet officiating. Calling hours were 6-8 p.m. today, March 15 from and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at the church.

She was born Oct. 25, 1938, to Ben S. and Elmina Yoder, and on March 19, 1959, married Alfred A. Schlabach. He survives.
Mattie was a member at Gospel Haven Mennonite Church and made many friends during her years as a taxi driver. She enjoyed her gardens, birds and loved her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Alfred, are her children, Edna Mae (James) Schrock of Berlin, Olen (Deanna) of Shreve, Betty (Paul) Troyer of Millersburg, Freda (David) Troyer of Utica, David (Miriam) of Millersburg, Jake (Judy) of Fredericksburg, Arlin (Marcia) of Millersburg, and Mark (Heidi) of Columbus; 32 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sarah (Rudy) Byler of Mount Eaton, Sovilla Yoder of Fredericksburg, Gertie (Roman) Hershberger and Edna (Eli Jr.) Hershberger, both of Farmerstown; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and two grandchildren.
