MILLERSBURG -- Thelma E. Root, 91, of Millersburg, went home to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017.

Services were 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman. Friends called from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg. Those wishing to share a memory or make online condolences may do so by visiting www.alexanderfhinc.com.

Thelma Root

Thelma was born April 18, 1925 in Cleveland, and was the daughter of Frank and Elsie (Roble) Cox. On Nov. 10, 1962 she married Donald A. Root and he survives. Thelma was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She enjoyed doing yard work, sewing, bird watching and she loved to decorate.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Beverly (Charles) Cox of Millersburg, and Deborah (Richard) Weaver of Scappoose, Oregon; three grandchildren, Chad Minnick, Matthew (Stephanie) Minnick and Katherine (Tony) Sauerwine; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, who was born early morning on Easter day; two nephews; and a niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Norman Zahnke; and her two sisters.
