ORRVILLE -- David R. Yoder, 77, 11585 Arnold Road, Orrville, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at his home after a period of declining health.
He was born in Wayne County on June 30, 1939 to the late Roman and Mary (Gingerich) Yoder, and married Elizabeth R. Mast on Dec. 22, 1960. She survives.
He had lived all of his life in Wayne County and was a member of the Amish Church, where he was ordained a minister in 1973.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his sons, Jacob (Ada) Yoder of the home, Albert (Anna Mae) Yoder of Orrville and Myron (Jolene) Yoder of Holmesville; daughters, Arie (John) Kauffman of Fredericksburg and Anna (Ivan) Keim of Wilmot; 32 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert (Clara) Yoder of Fredericksburg; sisters, Drucilla (Eli C.) Troyer of Apple Creek, Clara (Roman) Gingerich of Orrville and Mary (Raymond) Wengerd of Apple Creek; and a sister-in-law, Katie Yoder of Orrville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert; a brother, Eli; and sisters, Emma and Fannie Yoder.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 29, 2017, at 9 a.m. at the residence with Bishop Enos Miller officiating. Burial was in Erb Cemetery, East Union Township. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton handled arrangements.
