Nancy Hunter, 79, Killbuck

1938-2017

KILLBUCK -- Nancy Carole Hunter, 79, of Killbuck, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Majora Lane Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 1, 1938 to Lucille Lewis Hall at the home on Mitten Ridge, and was a 1956 graduate of Killbuck High School.

She retired from Scenic View Nursing Home after 28 years, where she was an activities director and helped with transporting the veterans for their appointments.

Nancy loved her flowers and enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She loved watching the birds, and would go for long walks on the trail. She would visit with friends on Facebook daily, and enjoyed watching the school children walk to and from school past her home.

Surviving are children, Lisa Shepler of Killbuck, Robert (Karen) Hunter of Glenmont, Cindy (Gary) Asche of Millersburg and Aimee (Jason) Crowthers of Glenmont; grandchildren, Rod (Bernice) Shepler of Killbuck, Brock (Christy) Shepler of North Carolina, Matt (Chrissy) Shepler of Glenmont, Jessica Shepler of Killbuck, Cody Hunter (Colleen) of Colorado, Lindsey (Keven) Beachy of Glenmont, Casey (Alex) Garver of Lakeville, Paige Asche of Millersburg, Duel (Crystal) Hunter, Kaleb Crowthers and Kolton Crowthers, all of Glenmont; 14 great-grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter due in September; and special nephews, Dave and Don Hall of Millersburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille Lowe and Alva Hall; a son, Jeff Hunter; and a brother, Sonny Hall.

Per Nancy's wishes, there were no calling hours or services. Private graveside services for family and friends were held in Killbuck Cemetery. Her nephew, Dave Hall, officiated.
