SUGARCREEK -- Betty Jean (Nussbaum) Hochstetler, mother of Gwen Biddle, Cheryl (Dewey) Gerber, Donna (Dan) Birky -- with whom she lived-- Dorothy (Rich) Feller, Phil (Chris) Hochstetler, Donavan (Paula) Hochstetler and Jeff (Bobbi Jo) Hochstetler, went to heaven Friday, June 2, 2017, anxious to be with her husband, Eli, and her precious Savior. She was also greeted there by her parents and son-in-law Jack.
For 86 years, she was a faithful prayer warrior for all her family, which included 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was a gifted musician and a pure and gentle woman who diligently cared for her family.
She is survived by sisters Edith Gingerich, Doris Stutzman and Evelyn White, and brothers Gordon, Ken, Claire, Earl and Norm Nussbaum.
A memorial service was held Grace Mennonite Church in Berlin on Tuesday, June 6. Calling hours were from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. prior to the service at 1 p.m., which was led by her grandson, Jamie Blickensderfer.
Arrangements were handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.
