MOUNT EATON -- Brenda K. Holcomb, 66, of Mount Eaton, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark following a period of declining health.
She was born in Bergoo, W.Va., on March 25, 1951 to Stanley and Violet (Williams) Hamrick and married Jerry S. Holcomb on Nov. 8, 1970. He survives.
Despite contracting polio at the age of 2, Brenda overcame adversities and became a loving wife, dedicated mother and grandmother, and now stands with her Jesus.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her father of Cowen, W.Va.; sons, Jason (Michelle) Holcomb of Creston and Michael (Wendy) Holcomb, of Apple Creek; grandchildren, Steven, Alex, Wyatt, Jack, Makenzie and Cooper; sisters, Karen (Charlie) Smith, of Tioga, W.Va., Jane (Denny) Brown, of Glenville, W.Va., and Jessica Daniels, of Elkins, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by her mother; and a brother, Charles.
Local calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-6 p.m. at the Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton.
Funeral services were Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Adams-Reed Funeral Home, 7000 Webster Road, Cowen, W.Va., with Pastor Keith Williams officiating. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Park in Erbacon, W.Va.
