Youth movie night
SMITHVILLE -- Smithville United Methodist Church, 243 N. Milton St., will hold a youth movie night for all junior and senior high school youth Saturday, Feb. 25, from 6-8 p.m. in the youth room. Movie snacks will be provided; take a friend.
Dinner theater benefits church, youth
WINESBURG -- Longenecker Mennonite Church, 2200 Township Road 606, will present "The Hawaiian Heist," a mystery dinner theater by Nancy Bond Feb. 24-26. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday with the play starting at 6:30 and Sunday the doors will open at 4:15 p.m. and the play will begin at 5. The evening will include a luau inspired meal complete with a tropical inspired dessert. Feel free to dress as if you were attending a luau. You will have the opportunity to guess who did the "crime" from the interesting cast of characters who are attending a relationship seminar at a resort in Kona, Hawaii.
Proceeds from this event go into the church's building fund for the new worship center. This year the church also will be raising funds for the youth group's mission trip to Nicaragua this summer. The youth group will help serve the meal and the church is inviting the diners to leave a cash tip for the youth at the table. The monies collected will be used for the mission trip. The church will also share a portion of the proceeds with the youth group.

Mardi Gras celebration planned
SMITHVILLE -- Smithville United Methodist Church, 243 N. Milton St., will hold a Mardi Gras celebration family friendly night of decadent desserts and fun on Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., to kick off the Lenten season. Prison Ministry banquet planned
WILMOT -- We Care Prison Ministry will be holding a banquet at the Amish Door Restaurant on March 6 at 6:15 p.m. The Anchored Quartet will be singing. Muskingum musicians at Zion Lutheran
WOOSTER -- Zion Lutheran Church will be host to the Muskingum University Concert Choir and Chamber Singers as part of the musicians' 2017 Winter Concert Tour. The concert will be Monday, March 6, at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of Zion Lutheran, 301 N. Market St.
Women's Spring Prayer Breakfast is March 18
WOOSTER -- All area women are invited to the 25th anniversary of the Women's Spring Prayer Breakfast, "Becoming Spiritually Fit," Saturday, March 18, 8:30-10:30 a.m. at Jake's Restaurant, 6655 E. Lincoln Way, Wooster. Music will be by Margot Steiner and message by Lisa McConnell.
